The most popular beers aren’t necessarily the best

Ever since I first saw reviews for the Ford Escort Mk5, I started noticing that the most popular things aren’t necessarily the best things of their sort.

This also applies to beer, and was proved tonight in an article I spotted on the Daily Mail’s Facebook page showing a map of the world’s most popular beers that someone had knocked together.

Most of them appear to be of the sort that taste like tap water, and a beer taste so faint you’d need a scientific instrument as sensitive as the Large Hadron Collider in order to find it. Budweiser, Corona + Carling being among the lowest scorers on Ratebeer.com.

Here’s a small selection of beers I find WAY better…….
1) Robinson’s Old Tom

2) Theakston’s Old Peculier

3) Morland Old Speckled Hen

4) Wychwood Scarecrow / Circlemaster

5) Wychwood Black Wych

6) Fuller’s ESB

7) Black Sheep Ale

8) Marston’s Pedigree

9) Adnam’s Broadside

10) Samuel Adam’s Boston Lager

11) Leffe Brune
